The Huntsville Housing Authority (HHA) will be accepting applications for the project-based voucher waiting list.
Please note that the online pre-applications are for families who are eligible for a one- and two-bedroom unit.
Furthermore, submission of an online pre-application does not guarantee placement on this waiting list and
placement on this waiting list does not guarantee eligibility or an offer for housing.
DATE & TIME OPENS: Tuesday, June 24, 2024, at 8:00 a.m.
DATE & TIME CLOSES: Wednesday, June 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
Applications are only available electronically online at www.hsvha.org.
Applications will only be accepted online for everyone, even those requesting reasonable accommodations.
HHA will provide reasonable accommodations to families who require assistance during the application period.

Application Process to Be Placed on The Project-Based Waiting List:
• Online pre-applications will be reviewed to ensure that the applicant family qualifies for the bedroom size.
• If your completed online pre-application is submitted by the application closing deadline and your family qualifies for a one- or two-bedroom unit, your pre-application will be entered on the waiting list based on the date and time of the application.
• All online applications received after the application closing deadline WILL NOT be placed on the waiting list.
• Once you are placed on the waiting list, waiting time is determined by applicant’s order on the waiting list and the bedroom size required for the household.
How Does the Project-Based Section 8 Voucher program work?
Under the Project-Based Section 8 Voucher Program, the rental assistance is tied to the Monrovia Flats
and is not portable like the regular “tenant” based Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.
The HHA will refer families from the project-based waiting list to Monrovia Flats to fill their vacancies.
